Ian McKinnon is
an industry trained textile technician with over 28 years experience
working with industrial weaving, in particular, jacquard weaving.
Ian is also trained in non woven, (mechanical felting), and fabric
finishing.
Ian has taken the experience from industry
into the realm of the arts and crafts, and for the last 20 years
has been weaving rugs and tablet woven braids, (also termed card
weaving).
In late 2009 Ian started producing decorative
wallhangings using Peter Collingwood's "macrogauze" technique,
where the warp ends move radically to form the pattern. The loom
used is a modified two shaft vertical loom with a weaving width
